COPIA is a monographic series about translations in architecture.
Whether from one context to another, or one field to another, COPIA is interested in conscious and active appropriation: cultural anthropophagy, hacking, occupation.
COPIA defends the copyleft, the free and collective reproduction of ideas — and proposes a critical reflection on the act of copying itself: why? From who? How?
Each COPIA is made up of 4 parts: a recorded text; a translated text; a text that reacts to the translation; a graphic essay.
COPIA is the space of university photocopying: the freest reproduction of ideas.
COPIA was launched in June 2024, at the stationery and photocopier at FAU UFRJ.
Editors: Cauê Capillé e Thiago Soveral
Publisher: Editora da FAU UFRJ
Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro
COPIA 01 is about the commons.
